Esthetic Surgery
In Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency, we receive extensive training on esthetic management of the face. We use these principles on all our procedures, even intraorally. All our time in residency is spent on the face, unlike other specialties. We, therefore, understand the importance of minimizing scars and treating patients as we would want to be treated. At Oral Surgery Associates, we want to restrict our intervention to acquired defects, including previously fractured noses or drooping of the eyelids and/or brows. This means that we do not offer traditional cosmetic surgery. We are able to recommend other physicians for these services.
We offer rhinoplasties to those that do not like the look or function of their nose after an injury, blepharoplasty or brow lift for those with restricted vision, scar revision, removal and closure of facial skin cancer and lesions (see Skin Cancer/Lesion section), and corrective jaw surgery for people with malocclusion or poor bites (see Jaw Surgery).
For these procedures, we may use Botulinum Toxin or collagen injections. These aid in smoothing or elevating slight irregularities in the face. Another adjunctive agent we provide is Laser therapy if needed. Everyone is different, therefore, all modalities of treatment will be discussed at a consult.
